Teen Patti is one of those games that almost everyone in Bangladesh has played at some point — at family gatherings, during festivals, or just with friends on a quiet evening. Holiganbet brings that same familiar game to your phone with live tables, multiple variants, and payouts straight to your bKash or Nagad account.
About the Game
Teen Patti — which literally means "three cards" in Hindi and Urdu — has been played across the Indian subcontinent for generations. It shares DNA with the British game Three Card Brag and has some similarities to poker, but it has its own rhythm and its own culture. In Bangladesh, it's the kind of game people know without being taught, passed down through family and social circles rather than rulebooks.
The appeal is straightforward. Each player gets three cards. You bet on whether your hand is stronger than the dealer's or the other players at the table. The hand rankings are simple enough to learn in five minutes, but the betting decisions — when to play blind, when to show, when to fold — give the game real depth. It rewards patience and reading the table, not just luck.
Holiganbet has taken that familiar experience and built it into a proper online platform. You get the same tension of a live table, the same social energy of playing against real people, and the convenience of doing it from your phone at any time of day. The live dealer versions in particular feel close to sitting at a real table — the dealers are professional, the video quality is solid, and the pace of play feels natural.
Hand Rankings
There are six hand types in standard Teen Patti. The higher the rank, the harder it is to get — and the more it beats at the table.
Three cards of the same rank. Three aces is the highest possible hand in Teen Patti.
Three consecutive cards of the same suit. Also called a Straight Flush.
Three consecutive cards of mixed suits. Also called a Straight or Run.
Three cards of the same suit that are not in sequence. Ranked by highest card.
Two cards of the same rank. When two players both have a pair, the higher pair wins.
No combination. The hand is ranked by its highest card. Ace is the highest high card.
How to Play
A standard round of Teen Patti on Holiganbet follows the same structure as the traditional game. Everyone at the table puts in a boot amount — a mandatory starting bet — before any cards are dealt. The dealer then gives each player three cards face down.
From there, the betting goes around the table. You have two choices at each turn: play blind (without looking at your cards) or play seen (after looking at your cards). Blind players bet at the base rate; seen players bet at double. This blind/seen mechanic is one of the things that makes Teen Patti feel different from poker — there's a real psychological element to staying blind for a few rounds.
The round ends when all but one player has folded, or when two players agree to a show — where both hands are revealed and the stronger hand wins the pot. On Holiganbet's live tables, the dealer manages the flow and the interface handles all the bet calculations automatically.
Game Variants
Holiganbet offers several Teen Patti formats beyond the classic version. Each one changes the rules slightly to create a different kind of session.
The standard version of the game with no wild cards or special rules. Three cards, standard hand rankings, blind and seen betting. The purest form of the game and the best starting point for new players on Holiganbet.
One or more cards are designated as wild jokers before the deal. Jokers can substitute for any card to complete a hand. This variant produces stronger hands more frequently and tends to run at a faster pace.
A real dealer runs the game on camera in a professional studio. You see the cards dealt live, interact with the dealer through a chat interface, and play against other real players at the same table on Holiganbet.
Just you and the dealer. No other players at the table. This format moves faster and removes the social dynamics of a full table, making it a good option when you want a focused, quick session on Holiganbet.
The hand rankings are reversed. The weakest hand in standard Teen Patti becomes the strongest in Muflis. High card beats a trail. It takes a mental adjustment but creates a genuinely different strategic experience.
Aces, Kings, Fours and Sevens are all wild cards. With four wild card ranks in play, strong hands appear much more often. The betting gets aggressive quickly and pots tend to build fast in this variant.
Betting Rules
One of the things that confuses new Teen Patti players is the relationship between blind and seen bets. The table below shows how the minimum bet changes depending on your status and the current stake level at the table.
| Player Status | Minimum Bet | Can Request Show? | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Blind Player | Current stake | No | Has not looked at cards |
| Seen Player | 2× current stake | Yes | Has looked at cards |
| Seen vs Blind | 2× blind's stake | No | Blind can refuse show |
| Seen vs Seen | 4× current stake | Yes | Either player can call |
| Sideshow Request | 2× current stake | Seen only | Compare with previous player |

Playing Smart
Teen Patti has a luck component — you can't control what cards you're dealt. But the decisions you make around betting, when to stay blind, when to fold, and when to call a show, have a real impact on your results over time. A few things that experienced players tend to do differently from beginners:
Stay blind longer than feels comfortable. Blind players bet at half the rate of seen players. If you're not confident in your hand, staying blind keeps your costs down while you read the table.
Don't call a show too early. A show costs both players. If you're not confident you have the stronger hand, it's often cheaper to fold than to pay for a show you might lose.
Use the sideshow strategically. A sideshow lets you compare hands with the player before you. If they have a weaker hand, they fold. It's a useful tool when you have a decent hand but aren't sure about the rest of the table.
Set a session limit before you start. Holiganbet has deposit and session limit tools built into the account settings. Use them. Teen Patti can move fast and it's easy to lose track of how long you've been playing.
